Read King Power as a combined score
King Power brings together troops, replacement capacity and a defense premium. It is useful for comparing kingdoms on a board, but it is not the attack power of the army you can send from one city. Troop location and actual battle bonuses still need to be checked separately.
The score uses two points per counted troop, twelve hours of sustainable troop production, and a quarter of the amount by which the normalized defensive value exceeds the relevant troop count. The source calculation handles the eligible holdings and baseline objective support. Personal combat skills and gear are not extra infrastructure points simply because they make an army stronger.
A worked example with deliberately simple numbers
Suppose a fictional kingdom has 10,000 counted troops, sustainable troop production of 1,000 per hour, and a normalized defensive value of 20,000 for a corresponding 10,000-troop garrison base. The troop portion is 20,000 points. Twelve hours of production adds 12,000. The defense premium is one quarter of the 10,000 difference, or 2,500.
The example total is 34,500 King Power. These inputs are invented to show the arithmetic; they are not a live player’s statistics and do not imply that one city produces those values.
The production term uses the city base and eligible objective support, with personal skills, personal gear and temporary production items excluded. Substituting the fully boosted HUD rate can make a hand calculation disagree with the board.
Explain a change before reacting to it
A battle can reduce counted troops. City growth can change replacement capacity. Ownership changes can alter the holdings and defenses included in the score. Several of these can happen during an absence, so the difference between two board readings may have more than one cause.
Read Welcome Back, Reports and the current city list before concluding that the score moved incorrectly. Public and in-game ranking views may also update after the underlying multiplayer action rather than in the same frame as its animation. Let the state refresh before comparing screenshots.
Use scouting for the battle in front of you
A ruler with a high score may have troops spread across several cities or away on marches. A lower-scoring ruler can still concentrate a strong garrison at your chosen target. The ranking does not reveal the exact wall, current reinforcement timing or attack package for that fight.
Scout the target and inspect the report timestamp. Then use the actual order panel to read your committed force and travel. Treat King Power as context for the opponent’s kingdom, not a replacement for the target’s defenses.
Compare like with like
Top Kingdoms, Top Clans and Field of Glory answer different questions. Field of Glory counts eligible player-combat kills, while King Power describes the kingdom through its own formula. A placement on one board does not automatically imply the same placement on the others.
When reviewing a completed season, choose the season and board together. Final archive entries preserve that campaign’s result; your current kingdom can have a different score. Use the current in-game standings when planning today’s campaign.
