Before you begin

  1. Inspect the officer, item family, rarity and level.
  2. Keep two matching pieces for the next upgrade.
  3. Check the fixed Gold fee and the equipped result before confirming.

Five rarities, five levels each

Equipment progresses through Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary. Every rarity has Levels 1–5. At Level 5, two matching pieces promote into Level 1 of the next rarity. Legendary Level 5 is the endpoint.

Matching means the same item family, rarity and level. A War Captain helmet cannot replace a Master of Coin cap, and a Common Level 1 duplicate cannot upgrade a Common Level 2 target. Both inputs are consumed and one new piece is created. If the target was equipped, the result takes its slot.

For example, two Common Level 4 helmets become one Common Level 5 helmet. To promote it, you need a second matching Common Level 5 helmet. Stored items provide materials; only equipped pieces grant their listed effects.

Fixed Gold fees

These are the Gold fees for one combine, in addition to the two matching pieces. They are identical across officers and slots and do not scale with production or city count.

A displayed fee covers the current step. It does not include making both inputs. Starting entirely from Common Level 1 requires 16 matching copies for Common Level 5, 32 for Uncommon Level 1, 1,048,576 for Legendary Level 1 and 16,777,216 for Legendary Level 5. Existing higher-level pieces reduce the work remaining. Choose a useful equipped improvement before committing a large reserve.

Common pieces keep their 0.25%, 0.50%, 0.80%, 1.15% and 1.50% level bonuses. Higher-rarity curves differ by effect. Inspect the item’s current and next bonus instead of assuming every Legendary piece has the same percentage.

How equipped bonuses combine

Skills and applicable gear contribute to the same system. The combined bonus limits are +200% attack, +200% city soldier defense, +200% city walls, +200% army march speed, +250% scout speed and 50% new regular-city wall repair reduction. Casualty recovery is capped at 90%; Field Medics can supply 50% and the highest medallion 40%.

Production has its own scopes: Master of Coin armor and the Ledger affect the Main City, while the Chain affects all cities. There is no blanket production cap introduced by this revision. Training Grounds and Infirmary no longer add new combat bonuses. Already-launched attack snapshots and existing repair deadlines retain their recorded values.

Open the right chest

A Common Gear Box reveals three Level 1 Common pieces. An Uncommon Gear Box reveals one Level 1 Uncommon piece and two Level 1 Common pieces. The fixed Daily Login cycle awards the Uncommon chest on Day 30; eligible final-season placements are another source.

Make room before opening a box: inventory capacity is checked before it is consumed. Claiming unopened season boxes is separate from opening them. Gear, its earned rarity and level, equipped slots and unopened boxes persist across seasons; ordinary consumable items reset. See the season guide before the next campaign.
